(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 19, 2007 ) Kelowna, BC --Aquassure Bath Products Inc. is having its Grand Opening Celebration on June 25th from 9 am to 8 pm at their head office at 549A Lawrence Avenue, Kelowna (just behind Towne Centre Mall). Aquassure Bath Products is a local manufacturing company that makes accessible bathtubs for seniors and disabled people. Refreshments will be served. We invite everyone to come take a tour of their offices, see the bathtubs and meet the team. The bathtubs are designed to be used by people with mobility challenges ranging from poor balance to those requiring wheelchairs and lifts. Aquassure is full-sized bathtubs can be retrofitted into an individual’s home, hotels or assisted living facilities.Aquassure’s unique bathtub and fixture designs allow greater ease of use and installation than walk-in style tubs. Unlike a regular bathtub, the Aquassure Bathtub is raised up on a pedestal base, with a sliding door like a van door. Entry and exit is similar to getting in and out of bed. The bathtubs come with pre-installed high-flow fixtures and variety of fixture and installation options. They are designed to fit into an existing full-size 5’ tub space, using the existing plumbing. Aquassure’s bathtubs use up to 40% less water than walk-in style of tubs, greatly reducing both fill and drain time and still providing a deep soak bath. “We are very excited to be on the market with our accessible bathtubs! It has been a long 6 year journey to get to this point,” says Matthew Longman, President and bathtub designer. “Our bathtubs are not walk-in bathtubs. They are accessible from a wide range of mobility aids, including wheelchairs, walkers, canes and lifts,” says Shari McDowell, VP Sales and Marketing. “Right now we are selling direct, but over the next couple of years, we will be rolling out to new distributors across Canada and the US. Our first independent distributor is Hillcrest Plumbing in the lower mainland.”“I am excited to join the team at Aquassure Bath Products as the Commercial Sales Manager,” says Dr. Alan Jenks. “My focus is on assisted living facilities and volume sales to hospitality properties and developments of adult communities.”“We have actually been in our offices since March, but we delayed the Grand Opening due to a heavy trade show schedule this spring,” says Shari McDowell. “We just returned from shows in Vancouver, Las Vegas, Dallas and Toronto. Response from these shows was very positive.”“Aquassure’s bathtubs incorporate premium fixtures and styling, with customizable cabinetry. We produce a contemporary, spa style tub, not something that looks like hospital equipment” says Matt Longman.“At the People in Motion show in Toronto, we had wheelchair users getting in and out of the tub,” says Matthew Longman. “It was very gratifying to see our bathtub enabling people to live independent lives.”Aquassure Bath Products was founded in 2002 by Matthew Longman and Shari McDowell. After six years of development, and expert input, their bathtubs were commercialized earlier this year. In 2004, Aquassure Bath Products Inc placed third in the New Ventures BC Competition.
