Shipping Oil to Iraq?

For that reason, the American Emu Association (AEA) is urging consumers planning on shipping emu oil products or emu jerky to military personnel overseas to shop early for holiday delivery. The only service that can deliver to Air/Army Post Office (APO) or Fleet Post Office (FPO) is the United States Postal Service (USPS). Tuesday, Nov. 13, is the first recommended date for sending holiday packages using Parcel Post to all APO/FPO ZIP Codes. The last recommended date for mail going to the war zone is Dec. 4, but for mail destined to all other international military installations, it is Dec. 18. “When you are shipping to servicemen and women overseas, you can’t wait until the last minute if you want the package to arrive in time for the holidays,” said Martha Hendricks, AEA Vice-President. Ms. Hendricks went on to say that there were a number of products popular with troops stationed in Northern Africa, including a lip conditioner or balm containing emu oil. “One thing returning military personnel have shared with AEA members is that there is a fly in Northern Africa that leaves a very painful bite. The lip conditioners or balms containing emu oil, when applied directly to the bite, are reported to help alleviate the pain and take the swelling down.” Emu oil is used in a number of different health and beauty products.According to the United States Department of Agriculture, emu are being raised on over 5,000 farms across the United States. Many of these farms sell their finished, consumer ready products online or at local farmers markets. The American Emu Association is a non-profit trade association representing the emu industry.
