Google Agrees to pay $22.5 million for avoiding Apple created user security settings reports Anonymous-Proxies.org

(EstateNewsWire.com, September 07, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Google has recently been flaunting privacy of Apple users and has decided to pay $22.5 million to end the legal dispute that had risen due to this reason.

This vital information was disclosed just a few days ago by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and complied with the reports that revealed by other forms of media and even the Associated Press. This sum of money is to date, the largest that has been directed by the FTC for disregarding its rules and regulations.

This agreement to pay the fine finally ends the blame placed on Google regarding violation of privacy for people using Apple and its browser Safari. Furthermore, Google has made a statement that it won’t interfere in the personal information transmitted on the web, unless the users have changed browser setting to allow Google to place tracks.

According to the FTC, Google has created a mechanism which helps them to keep watch over the online actions of people who used Double Click Advertising, especially in Safari browsers. Even after the sum was agreed upon, FTC is still keeping a close watch over Google to see if it has been violating other online rules regarding privacy of users.

Google denied this completely by retorting that the software they have created was only to know which users preferred what kinds of ads, and thus plan their system accordingly. Google further stated, according to mercurynews.com,

“We give highest preference to all our users and their privacy holds great importance for us.”

Previously, in 2010 Google had launched it social networking site called Buzz, which exposed personal emails to the world. After this incident Google, has signed a document with the FTC stating that they could keep an overview of its actions for the next 20 years. This was the signed document that Google supposedly hadn’t complied with.

However, none of this seems to have an impact on Google in the market because it’s value has increased to more than double after the fine and people are still continually investing in the website.
