(EstateNewsWire.com, August 24, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Chase Bank moved to a new location in the Tates Creek Centre last month. The move wasn’t the only change for their customers.
The new location was chosen by Chase officials to test out their new self-service kiosks. The Tates Creek branch is one of only a few Chase locations that are involved in the test.
The kiosks utilize computers that resemble larger versions of tablet computers. These computers offer more functionality than ATMs do, according to the bank. The computers in the self-service kiosks can cash checks; they also offer multiple bill denominations rather than the standard twenty dollar bills dispensed by ATMs.
Chase district manager Matt Ratliff says the change has been great. He notes that the tellers and personal bankers are still available if needed.
Chase promoted the self-service concept to analysts and investors by emphasizing the fact that it frees up tellers and personal bankers to spend more time with customers who require their assistance.
Ratliff says that branch customers have been receptive to the changes. He feels that one of the reasons the Tates Creek location was chosen as a test site is that Lexington customers rapidly adopted mobile banking when it was first offered there.
The branch has three self-service kiosks in addition to two teller lines and a drive-through window. Before the kiosks were added, there were four teller lines. The previous drive-through location was separate from the branch itself.
Ratliff says that the move to the new location has also made staffing easier now that employees don’t have to walk between the branch and the drive-through location. He also feels that the Tates Creek location is now offering customers a better banking experience.
