A recent article about studying outdoor décor at interior design school points to labor statistics that show interior designers are choosing to specialize in their industry. “According to the recent estimates by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 30% of interior design school graduates work in a specialized field of interior design. They also estimate that 14% of those are working in architectural and landscape architectural roles. Another 9% work in furnishings as a specialty, including outdoor furniture," the article said.
