Joe Floyd of Your Office Raleigh voiced his support of Pretty In Pink Foundation at the recent reception held at the North Carolina Governor's Mansion on October 6, 2011. "We are proud to support such an awesome group group that provides empowerment and direct support to breast cancer victims." Floyd said. "PIPF works with breast cancer victims that have no insurance or are under-insured. A lot of females tend to go untreated if they do not have insurance.
Mr. Floyd explained that he has personal experience with people that have been victims of breast cancer. "I've had friends that were victims of breast cancer, and family members, so it is close to me. We try to help with it wherever we can."
Victims of breast cancer are called "champions" by the foundation, because the focus is on overcoming the problem. The foundation also supports them through many methods beyond financial.
"The majority of the PIPF admin costs are covered through grants, so most of the money they raise goes directly to the champions they provide support to" Floyd explained.
