Attendees at NAMC NevadaÂ’s annual Gala will hear firsthand how ZapposÂ’ move to downtown Las Vegas will provide a vast economic stimulus for the area. Jamie Naughton, ZapposÂ’ Speaker of the House will deliver an inspiring message regarding the online retailerÂ’s relocation and the 2,000 jobs that the move will create.
“We are in the very early stages of planning for a potential move downtown. At this point, we do not have any details. We do know that there will be substantial work necessary on the city hall building,” said Chris Nielsen, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Zappos.com Inc.
More than 1,000 current Zappos employees will move from Henderson to downtown Las Vegas, which will also play a major role in revitalizing the area, bringing new business to the current restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, and quite possibly creating the demand for more services.
Those in attendance will also have the privilege of hearing inspiring messages from Mayor Oscar Goodman and Councilman Ricki Barlow, along with a very special message from Zappos CEO, Tony Hsieh.
At their annual gala, NAMC Nevada celebrates individuals and progress industry-wide and will also be awarding scholarships to the future leaders of the industry from UNLVÂ’s School of Construction Management.
