Mortgage Loan Originator
(Effective July 31, 2010)
Introduction
The Mortgage Loan Originator Licensing Act provides for the licensing and regulation of individuals originating mortgage loans in the state of Michigan. A mortgage loan originator is an individual who for profit or gain takes a residential mortgage loan application and/or offers or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan. An individual is required to meet the licensing requirements of a of a loan originator by July 31, 2010, which is the date that mortgage loan officer requirements are repealed.
