(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 16, 2008 ) Scottsdale AZ -- Bancroft Uranium Inc. (OTCBB: BCFT) (“Bancroft” or the “Company”) announced today the final series of drilling results from the 2008 surface drill program conducted at the Monmouth Uranium Project, near Bancroft Ontario. The Company today is releasing assay results from the final 7 drill holes 08-41 through 08-48. The Company has now received all drilling results and third party engineers have begun calculating the uranium resource at Monmouth. The detailed engineering report on the Monmouth Uranium Project being prepared will comply with N.I. Policy 43-101. This fifth in a series of drilling assays and intervals are from holes drilled over the final 200 feet of strike length exposure of the host rock skarn. In total, the combined results cover drilling conducted over 1,100 feet of strike on the deposit. Assays of 1.069lb/13.6’ in the last hole drilled, 08-48, and 0.831lb/15.5’ in 08-42 represent the best results from this series of holes.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDIX - News), a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery and development of drugs for the treatment of human viral and other infectious diseases, today reported phase I/II data for IDX899, a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) being developed for the treatment of HIV-1. Patients receiving once-daily IDX899 achieved a mean plasma viral load reduction of approximately 1.8 log(10) after seven days of treatment in each of the 800 mg, 400 mg and 200 mg dosing cohorts. Patients receiving placebo had a 0.05 log10 viral load increase over the same treatment period. No treatment-related serious adverse events were reported for any of the patients receiving IDX899 and no patients discontinued the study. Also, there were no discernable patterns in adverse events between treatment groups and there were no laboratory abnormalities during the treatment period. These data demonstrate potent antiviral activity and a favorable safety profile at all tested doses.

HOUSTON -- Transmeridian Exploration Incorporated (AMEX:TMY - News) (``Transmeridian'') and United Energy Group Limited (HK:467.HK) (``United Energy'' or ``UE) announced today that they have entered into an Investment Agreement (the ''Investment Agreement``) in connection with which UEG will acquire at least 90% of the outstanding shares of (i) 15% senior redeemable convertible preferred stock and (ii) 20% junior redeemable convertible preferred stock of Transmeridian (the ''Preferred Stock``) and pursuant to which UEG will make a cash infusion to fund Transmeridian's ongoing capital expenditure program and working capital requirements. UEG will receive shares of new preferred stock and warrants to purchase common stock, representing approximately 60% of the capital stock of Transmeridian on an as-converted, fully diluted basis in exchange for the Preferred Stock it acquires and the cash infusion. The transaction is subject to the approval of UEG's and Transmeridian's shareholders, regulatory approval and other terms and conditions contained in the Investment Agreement.
