The first building which will house manufacturing, warehousing, training and office space is expected to be completed in time for operations to begin in May of this year. Reportedly, the facility is strategically important for the company to continue its growth in the auto-body paints and supplies sector.
The auto-body paints and supplies sector consists mainly of aftermarket repair and painting of cars, trucks, and motorcycles but also includes refinishing of larger fleet vehicles such as commercial trucks, buses, light rail and other similar objects. Use of these coatings is in collision repair facilities (body shops) all across the country as well as commercial industrial locations.
Company officials stated “We are extremely excited about the opportunities we expect this new facility will present our company. The new facility will allow us to increase inventory in order to maintain short lead times for customers while ultimately providing more space and new equipment for our production activities. An area dedicated to spray operations and classroom training will also be included in the new building layout. This will enable onsite training and e-training opportunities that were not previously available on site. The facility will largely serve as a distribution hub for our UreKem products as well as our KemFx specialty automotive coatings brand but we are also excited about the opportunities for new products afforded by new equipment and processes planned for the new facility.”
