Though these kits are really designed to be used for bathroom exhaust fans, many homeowners will attach them to the back of the dryer which is very dangerous. Robb was pleased to see that the materials used were acceptable; however, the transition ducts could use some upgrading to increase air flow. Since the dryer vents were 80 percent blocked by lint accumulation, Robb performed a complete dryer vent cleaning service as he thought about how he could reconnect the transition to promote more efficient air flow.

Robb and the customer were happy with the solution which increased airflow while taking up less space behind the dryer.

The customer showed him a unique creation, a pumpkin decoration made out of vinyl venting material. Robb agreed that this was a safe and creative way to use the material. He also commented that it should never be used as a dryer vent.
Robb couldn’t resist taking a picture of the artwork as he jokingly offered to provide all the flexible venting they needed to make more pumpkins. “We replace these vinyl dryer ducts every day, so we have access to plenty of material, but you will have to come up with an idea of how to use the lint that comes with them!”
