(EstateNewsWire.com, December 14, 2012 ) Los Angeles, CA -- There are over 1 million US troops who won’t get a chance to spend the holidays at home or even in the country. And while they can't be together with their families, wishing the troops a Happy Holidays has never been easier or more fun.
White Basket Apps, a leading iPhone app developer, just released their Christmas Video Greeting Cards app, which lets a user create personal video greeting cards in seconds.
The user gets to choose a holiday border, record up to a 30 second personal video and even add some holiday background music with just a few clicks. The cards can then be emailed to friends and loved ones or shared on Facebook.
Vietly Vu, one of the app’s creators says, “The app is great for staying connected to friends and family no matter where they are, but we really want to make sure the troops know how much they are missed not just by their families but by all of us. We might not be able to bring them all home but we can hopefully help them all feel a little more connected to their families, friends and country.”
A user can simply download the app onto their iPhone to create personal cards for the soldiers they know or create cards with general holiday wishes for all the brave men and women who are serving in the military.
A user can also send a copy of their cards to White Basket Apps, who will post them on their Facebook page, so troops can watch all the Holiday cards made for them and their fellow soldiers 24 hours a day. And as an added incentive, users who submit their cards to the company will be entered into a drawing for a $500 prize ($250 for the winner, and $250 for the charity of the winner’s choice.)
The United States has around 900 military bases overseas and troops in over 130 countries and somewhere between 1 million and 1.5 million American troops stationed overseas. Let’s let them know how much they mean to their country.
