With the help of Invest Northern Ireland, the company recently funnelled £250,000 into research and development, allowing it to hire 10 new employees. The firm plans more expansion, including hiring additional employees, for the next year. Invest NI is a regional business development agency aimed at growing the local economy by supporting new and existing businesses to compete internationally and by attracting new investment to Northern Ireland.

In addition to word spreading regarding the new blind, increased profits have been a result of wider distribution of the BlocOut. Bloc Blinds has begun selling the product across the UK, Ireland and Europe and as far away as Papua New Guinea. Sales in Germany, Holland, Belgium, and France in particular account for one-third of the company’s annual revenues.
