This question has now been answered by advocates of home swapping. If you want to enjoy a vacation anywhere in the world and wish you won’t have to shell out too much money for accommodation, then home stay is for you. You may even end up not paying at all if you trade places with the other home owner who would like to visit your place as well. The home swapping idea all started some 50 years ago in Europe and is now gaining wide acceptance elsewhere.
Travelling to exotic places around the world, living like a local and saving thousands of dollars doing it is one of the best advantages of home exchange. In its report for its Life Changers segment, Extra reports “House swapping is not entirely new but now that money is especially tight it’s hotter than ever… anyone can get into the swap. From modest apartments to mega mansion, you will always find your match. So change your way of vacation, save a bundle and see the world all from the comfort of someone else’s home.”
Veteran home stay vacationers, Elizabeth and James L. can take their kids for a vacation to Europe even when crisis is hitting everyone. All they did was list their California home for home swapping and the rest is history. “Because the lodging is free, I have no problem shopping and spending the money”. Elizabeth says.
Fox news reports that home exchanges and homestay are up more than 20% in the last year. Because more and more have realized that home swapping can give them more fun and more savings on vacations, the numbers continue to rise. Ken H. of south Charlotte has exchanged his home since 1995 and has been doing so until now. He says home swapping has allowed him to vacation in places such as “Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Ireland, France (Provence), and Germany 3 or 4 times”. Bonnie R. also form Charlotte and a long time home swapper has this to say, “You save huge amount of money because you are not paying anything for the homes.” For those who have stayed in her home, “I have never has anything stolen, they respected my home”, she added.
