(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 08, 2008 ) Hong Kong -- Innovation, viewed through the eyes of document management solution (DMS) experts, was the name of the game on the opening day of Fuji Xerox DocuWorld 2008 solution showcase taking place in Hong Kong from the 7th to the 8th January.
Following the theme "Team Works-creates value through partnership", the highlights of the one-and-a-half-day event include a showcase of Fuji Xerox's extensive range of DMS solutions, including partner solutions based on the Apeos platform. Also on show are solutions from Global Services which help enterprises fulfil Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
"DocuWorld 2008 is going to show people some of our latest innovations – and one or two things they may not have seen before," said Mark Tan, Director Business Planning and Marketing of Fuji Xerox Hong Kong.
"For example, we are demonstrating solutions such as the Nuvera 288, the world's fastest digital duplex cut-sheet printer which is capable of making an entire book in just one hour. Nobody else can do the kind of things Fuji Xerox does to help itÂ’s customers accomplish success on a daily basis, which is what DocuWorld 2008 is all about," he said.
Also on display at DocuWorld 2008 will be a series of solutions designed for office environments. These include the latest partner solutions based on Apeos platform such as barcode scanning and photo scanning to the SAP platform; personalised image creation for variable data publishing through an Adobe InDesign plug-in. The event also features additional Apeos demos such as the Equitrac cost management solution as well as the BroadLearning eLearning solution.
"Fuji Xerox is doing more than showcasing what businesses can expect today.
In a real sense we are inventing the future – innovatively creating new solutions such as the ApeosWare Image Log Services (AWILS) which can track document movement and prevent information leaks through multifunction devices," said Tan.
All documents that are copied, printed, faxed or scanned, are automatically saved as images by ApeosPort Captured images are transferred to a core server using “OCR” technology, and are indexed and stored according to their job information.
"The benefits of AWILS include easy tracking, the ability to find out who, when, where and how documents were copied, printed, faxed or scanned. In fact, such close tracking creates a deterrent effect, helping to deter staff from leaking information," Tan said.
One of the most exciting exhibits at DocuWorld 2008 will be the offering from Global Services which will be showing off its latest offering designed to help enterprises fulfil the complex requirements of SOX compliance.
"Global Services is already helping a host of global businesses, including Sun Microsystems, Owens Corning, the InterContinental Hotels Group, Rolls-Royce Allison, Honeywell, Mercedes-Benz US International Ltd, Prudential Financial and Continental Airlines, to manage SOX compliance.
Our goal at DocuWorld 2008 is to show local and regional businesses how they can achieve the same outstanding results," said Tan.
According to Tan, the most important theme in DocuWorld 2008 is helping businesses to maximise their output, expand their production scope and generate lucrative new revenue streams by leveraging breakthroughs in document portal solutions.
"Any organisation that is looking to accelerate its long-term growth by evolving from a traditional to a state-of-the-art workflow will be amazed how quickly putting the power of Fuji Xerox Team Works to work can enable them to accomplish their goals," said Tan.
