Most homes are already built on slabs, and only need to be spruced up. All they truly need is a little staining and the homes can begin to look more appealing.
Vachik Gasparyants, owner of Charlotte Concrete Resurfacing, stated that his customers are young and enjoy contemporary looks to stained concrete. The flooring is gaining popularity as a finish among high-end condo dwellers.
Many older clients enjoy the idea of concrete due to how easy it is to maintain once implemented.
Gasparyants stated that his clients usually well-heeled. Concrete acid-stained homes average near $250,000 and more. Stained floors drop off at $800,000 and up. Those homeowners will often go for hardwood or traditional flooring finishes.
Stained concrete is only around $4 per square foot, while tiling and other materials can run as high as $20 per square foot. Concrete also gives a seamless finish to it and is “a modern look,” as Gasparyants puts it. “It is easy to clean and it’s cheap.”
