(EstateNewsWire.com, October 28, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- The nipping cold and hardened ground of autumn can be a tough time for some gardeners. Those with green thumbs must watch as wind, rain, and fading leaves take the place of vibrant greens and pastels of fruits and flowers. However, autumn colors and textures are still capable of being enjoyed indoors. “The whole Thanksgiving time and move toward Halloween is really big right now — it’s taken on a life of its own. People really just get right into it,” says Jim Hole, owner of the Enjoy Center in St. Albert. “It’s becoming almost equivalent to Christmas as far as what people do on the décor side.” The garden mum is one of the most utilized and decorative pieces to use, despite its simplicity. The mum will survive both inside and out, say Hole, who stocks plenty of mums in yellow, orange, burgundy, and cream colors. They are placed in large and small potts about the house. “What people really want for Thanksgiving is to have a welcoming look, and a lot of the garden mums are very fragrant. A lot of people don’t realize that.” The blooms look wonderful indoors for up to a fortnight, he says. “Outside, you’ll get a god, solid four weeks of nice-looking blooms, maybe six if it’s cooler.” Kalanchoe are another strategy to bring color indoors during the autumn and winter season; however, they are exclusively an indoor plant. Plants like ornamental kales are great for the outdoors. And of course there are always pumpkins to be talked about when Halloween and Thanksgiving roll around. They bring with them vibrant colors and keep everything looking vibrant while still within the autumn spirit. About HPotter.com:
