(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 29, 2006 ) Hollywood, CA –- Ground breaking for Sunset Gower Studios new state-of-the-art six story building to house Technicolor’s post production offerings was attended today by studio CEO, Robert Papazian and Technicolor’s president of content services, Ahmad Ouri.The construction project on the Sunset Gower lot is the first new facility and office building to be erected in central Hollywood since the early 1980s. “In addition to the new Technicolor building, we are currently undergoing a major modernization, refurbishing and face-lift of our entire 17-acre site,” according to Papazian. “This includes 12 sound stages, 42 buildings containing 325,000 square feet of office and production spaces, a full-service commissary, and parking for more than 250 vehicles. At any one time the studio employs 2500-3000 people.”Recent film and television productions shot on the Sunset Gower lot include the Jim Carrey feature The Number 23, Garry Marshall’s Georgia Rule, starring Jane Fonda, Felicity Huffman and Lindsay Lohan, and a host of network, cable and independent television productions, including NBC’s Heroes and Deal or No Deal, HBO’s miniseries Rome and Showtime’s new Dexter TV series.
