New York City Marathon Results Confirm That the Winners Have IncreMental Advantages Over the Runners

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 27, 2006 ) PRINCETON, N.J. -- IncreMental Advantage announced the findings of the research it conducted on the results of the November 5, 2006 New York City Marathon. In the men’s division, the winner (Marilson Gomes dos Santos of Brazil) beat the second place finisher (Stephen Kiogora of Kenya) by eight seconds. The winner finished the race four-tenths of a percentage faster than the second fastest runner. The winner was 1.3% faster than the fifth place contender and the winner was 3.4% faster than the eleventh place runner. In the women’s division, the winner (Jelena Prokopcuka of Latvia) beat the second place finisher (Tatiana Hladyr of the Ukraine) by exactly one minute. The winner finished the marathon seven-tenths of a percentage faster than the second fastest runner. The winner was 1.7% faster than the fifth place contender and the winner was 5.6% faster than the eleventh place runner.David Wanetick, Managing Director of IncreMental Advantage, said, “The results of the New York City Marathon confirm that incremental differences in performance separate the world’s best athletes from the runners’ up. While the winners in both the men’s and women’s division received a $100,000 prize, the second place contender in each division received a $45,000 prize. In the men’s division, the winner was only 1.3% faster than the next fastest runner but received an official prize of 122% more than the second place finisher. The tenth place finishers only received $1,000 in official prize money while the eleventh place finishers received no prize money. These runners are among the ten fastest marathon runners on the planet but the disparity in their winnings is enormous. IncreMental Advantages clearly present massively disproportionate consequences.” About IncreMental Advantage: IncreMental Advantage is a think tank that publishes breaking research developments on issues ranging from advertising to water utilities.
