(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 13, 2010 ) Sacramento, CA - "Innovation and Change in the Insurance Industry" was the subject of the lecture given at Stanford University last week. The lecture was delivered by Julie Davis, formerly with Aon Corporation.
For many years, Davis co-existed seamlessly in two worlds: Insurance and Risk Management and New Product Innovation and Business Design. Davis shared her innovation experiences with the audience.
During the past few years, the insurance and risk management sector has experienced slow growth and the need to become increasingly innovative is important, as competitors begin to look similar to their market. While the need for innovation has forced some firms to review how they leverage their top talent, not enough is being done to address the needs of tomorrow’s clients; the post-recession client. “Culture and Change” were her top discussion points.
Davis elaborates on the benefits on innovation in professional services, but points out that with the use of technology we have made progress in greater productivity. But not enough is being done to create new products and service markets.
Davis, on a mission to help firms grow more wisely, has formed a non-profit group, RiskCommunities, aims at helping innovative firms with a wide range of issues as they grow. Through the groupsÂ’ blogs, broadcasts, surveys and discussions, firms will be exposed to leaders, of various disciplines, who will share their experiences.
Davis has been recognized by the Chicago Innovation Awards, Stevie Awards for Best New Product and Executive.
